Because life is a gift don't take it for granted and don't give up--God loves you!
*(I finally learned that life really is a gift—even after a childhood and adulthood of poverty; neglect; abuse; mental illness; severe life-long, clinical depression; suicidal ideation; disadvantage; persecution and defamation [by individuals and by groups of people in collusion together, etc.]; being marginalized; and being the target of both explicit and implicit racism, bigotry and prejudice—and that as long as you have life there still is hope [for you] despite my once OD-ing on prescription psychotropic and antidepressant drugs to end it all years ago when I was a youth still in my early twenties.):
Believe it or do not life is a gift—
do not give up yourself to its evils
or to its tribulations and trials!
Know instead that God, tho' you feel adrift,
will never leave you—He will buoy you up
and guide you to shore; this know that God wills.
He will anoint your steps through the steep hills
of your life and in the end fill your cup
until it runs over—rejoice! Have heart!
For you are not alone in your sorrows
and grief, for God and His angels take part
in the triumphs and victories you'll seize.
If you hold out to the end, tomorrows
are yours—have hope and fight despair's disease!
