Day 3 NaPoWriMo


Transformation


Equal parts fairy child /
brave warrior woman,
plying words;
weaving clean threads
on loom of life.

Streetwise but transplanted--
fresh roads, new gardens
with different rules, expectations.
Treading gently in new growth--
no map for this in GPS.

Clear eyes seeing
new perspectives, possibilities.
She yearns, pulled in
mutually exclusive directions:
she hit the dirt, but now grows wings--

Wither shall she fly, this fairy child?
