Discover the invaluable significance of photographs; their power as memories
Photographs tell stories. They apprise us with memories, portraying infinitesimal segments of your life story. When I peruse the photos on my wall--every solitary one sui generis and encompassed by a frame--I see my life unfolding in front of me. Spontaneously, I reflect on that individual, discrete moment in time, and engross myself within it, commemorating how I felt and what was swirling through my mind. In a way, photos are astoundingly kindred to a time machine. Next time your parents adjure you to pose for a photo, don't be querulous and recalcitrant and make a fuss about it; after all, those pictures will be the only remnant of your presence at that particular place at that particular time. That being said, I believe that it is fair to proclaim that your photographs are the only, mere entity keeping your lifetime, your subsistence, "alive." The notion of word of mouth is susceptible to becoming lost in the daily hustle and bustle of life, but photographs are a member of an exclusive category; it is one of the few tangible entities indicative of your existence.
