a poetic description of a metropolis from the eyes of a suburbanite
A Concrete Jungle

A jungle of skyscrapers
that tower ever so high
inspire me as a casual writer
soaring into a cloudy sky.

Fancy one hotel, indoors,
higher than the eye can see.
Elevators can reach fifty floors.
Can this vast indoors really be?

Experts gaze upward intense
inspire architecture and craft.
Sees a vaulted ceiling immense,
an irony that there is no draft.
