The meaning of life versus death.
Revelation 22:1

A strange thing happened to me
on the road to death.
I was born.
It took me a very long happy time
before I got bored and even
acknowledged the road I was on.
I woke up.
Instantaneously I looked back but couldn't see
the time
before the time I first remember.
It was as if
I had stepped into a stream
along my plane ride of existence.
This stream was the water of life
and I must have decided to
cross it.
I couldn't cheat it
by crossing some sort of covered bridge.
But looking back again I must have decided
to get very wet.
Because looking for the shore
wanting to know more
I fell in.
Now I sometimes swim,
sometimes wade and
yes even walk the waters.
A soaking awakening,
this life,
on the road to the rest.
