Pond Poetry Contest
Pond Poetry Prompt ~ Round 85

PROMPT: Write me a poem inspired by the above inspirational quote (upgraded authors and higher can use the image in their item if they'd like, otherwise you can include the quote in an Author's Note or somewhere in the item listed as the prompt for the poem and contest if you want to list it). Enjoy!

Please write your poem in the following form: http://shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/synchronicity.html - I will be checking to make sure all rules of the form are followed correctly and it will be taken into consideration when judging so make sure you read the rules of the form carefully! IN YOUR ITEM ITSELF: make sure to note the form. This is not only for me as a judge (as sometimes I can't get to judging right away) but also for others who read your piece that may not know why you wrote it the way you did!

This is a bit about the Synchronicity Form: "Synchronicity" (The state or fact of being synchronous or simultaneous; synchronism. Coincidence of events that seem to be meaningfully related.). This form consists of eight three-line stanzas in a syllable pattern of 8/8/2. This poetry type has no rhyme and is written in the first person with a twist. The twist is to be revealed within the last two stanzas.

Ya know, I've also had my share
of lumps, straightening right back up
an' stuff …

But sure as hell, I shouldn't have
to take that same crap from you now …
no way!

What is it that emboldens you
to treat me disrespectfully?
Maybe …

I'm too even-tempered? Perhaps
you see this as a weakness? Hmm …
Well now …

'Newsflash', my friend - You'd best be scared
I might knock you down on your ass,
oh yeah!

Do you think I wouldn't do it?
You're pushing me … Stop pushing me
I say …

Now that ain't fair! … Don't look at me
that way! It won't work, I tell ya …
Please? … Just ...

Vacate my chair, you no-good CAT!
You've hogged it plenty long enough!
…. or not?
