A look at the large number of celebrity deaths in 2016, as did our friends and loved ones.
Superheroes.
Superspies.
Spaceman Senators.
Somebody's father, grandfather and uncle.

Commies.
Conservatives.
Coaches.
Cowboys.
Chaplains.
Cousins whom we all grew up with,
most of them not identical.

Lovely ladies.
First Ladies.
Lois Lane.
Loving mothers and daughters.

Boxers.
Boyfriends.
Barristers.
Broadcasters.
Brothers and friends.

Golfers.
Ghouls.
Gordie.
Girlfriends.

Detectives.
Doctors.
Dahlinks.
Dozens of others we all knew and loved,
even personally.

There will always be a time to mourn,
but some years are worse than others
as we say goodbye to those who came into our homes
whom we never knew and others that we alone knew,
the latter the ones we reminisced about and wept for the most.
