With a push here and a pull here, something so beneficial to health sure can be a nuisance
It burns like hellfire.
I’m forced to move with the burning sensation.
Not stopping, it drags my legs along with its heavy rotation.
A loud ring. Now I’m on the floor.
I push myself up from the ground only to be pulled down.
I try again.
But my face comes close to the floor with a start.
Once more and my arms begin to burn as my legs once did.
It repeats. My breathing is shallow.
Though I’m slowly being drenched in sweat,
It burns like hellfire.
My arms give way and my face finally meets the floor.
A thumping fills my ears as it rhythmically beats the exhaustion away.
A loud ring. And,
I see the ceiling.
I’m being pulled to reach my knees.
My stomach aches, my breathing picks up again.
It repeats. My breathing is shallow.
And it begins to burn. It burns and burns and burns and burns and burns and-
A loud ring.
My body relaxes to the floor and I let the thumping lull me into silence. My breathing evens out and I part my lips to sigh.
Exercising lights a flame.
It burns like hellfire.
