Dwarven Mining Poem |
| They march together in time With their Beards swinging in line Into the ground they will descend Morning beginning to the days end With Pick and Axe in hand they go Ever lower and lower down below Grit and grime and dirt galore Searching ever after for precious ore Singing the songs of a miners lament With strong backs that are never bent Striking the rock and the sparks will fly Loving the earth and resenting the sky Ever deeper into darkness they choose to dwell One step from wealth and two steps from hell The Dwarven Chant echoes from the depths below Striking the rocks with a tremendous blow “Swing them high boys and strike without fear” “Hi De Hi and Ho De Ho for our wealth draws near” “Swing them low boys and strike with your might” “From morning sun ‘till the moon of night” “Keep on digging boys our reward will be won” “Hi De Hi and Ho De Ho our work is ne’er done” “Ever deeper into darkness we choose to dwell” “One step from wealth and two steps from hell” |
