A poem about OUAT Pan and his relationship with one of my characters, Lilith Jones.
noticeable things

he noticed her the moment
her feet hit the sand,
and her voice lifted into
the sky with laughter
and with unfiltered joy
- joy at being free.

he noticed it the second
she turned around to face him,
when her eyes gleamed in the
light of the blazing sun and
her hair seemed to disappear
into the darkest of nights.

he noticed in the time
it took for the other boys
to crowd around her and the
fire and listen to stories of
the sea and of the mainland
and of all the other things.

he noticed the way her
voice became so much
softer as the night wore
on and the way she didn't
stop talking till all of the
boys had left her alone.

he noticed it when her
family appeared on the
isle again - her brother
had grown up and her
father had grown hard -
and she watched them
try and get back the
ones they had lost.

he noticed her at the
last moment of his days,
her eyes were wide with
something like horror as
the blade of the dagger
pierced him in the back
and he disappeared in
a pillar of black smoke.

the way she loved being free.
the way she loved playing games.
the way she loved telling stories.
the way she loved her family.
the way she loved h i m.
