I was brought up to have reverence for the American Flag and our Service Members.

Salutations
         and the
                   utmost
           respect
for the
         American Flag
  which now
                   some
             reject.
Not one day
                   passed
         during
    my school
                   days
when we
         didn't give
                   Old Glory
           praise.
We understood
                   even with
         young minds
    She is our
                   Freedom here
and at
         battle lines.
It's those who
                   for Her
         still defend.
Zealous salutes
                   to those
         women and men.
On this
                   Independence Day,
         two hundred
    forty-two years.
We celebrate
                   their bravery,
         work, blood, sweat
                             and tears.
