Poem About Imagined Endings
This poem is entered in "Endings are the New Beginnings -Closed

Peace
as my mind's chatter becomes numb,

rolling down this lane so many times before
reenacting the same small scene

Noise
as my life plays out in a haze of tears
keeping my vinyl records seems like a small thing
like holding on to a fading memory

Quiet
as I walk through the cemetery park
searching for the place on the side of the hill
a small thing to talk to spirits in the wind

Siren
as I kneel to say what's left of a few prayers
Driving too close to the edge on my side of the ledger
seemed like such a small thing to lose
