This Month's Editor: Wordsmitty ✍️
I hope everyone has been practicing their singing for the WDC 18th Anniversary on September 1. That should give you something to blog about unlike the person doing this month's Feature. I'm sure we've all had experiences like it, though.
Keep on Bloggin'!
I don't want to blog!
by Wordsmitty ✍️
OK, dear. It's time.
Aw. Do I have to?
Of course. It's good practice, and you made it a goal to do it.
Stupid goals! Can't I do it later?
It's later now. Remember, you were suppose to do this hours ago and decided to wait.
But I want to play just a bit longer.
Do it now, and you'll have plenty of time later to play.
But why do I have to?
Don't you want to become a famous writer when you grow up?
I want to become Wonder Woman with a magic lasso to make people tell the truth.
Don't we all. Wonder Woman isn't real.
Oh, so Wonder Woman isn't, but Santa Claus is?
Hush before your little brother hears.
He's going to find out. You can't pretend forever.
Don't you have nice memories when you thought he was real?
You should have written them down. Now back to your blog.
But I can't think of anything to write.
Why don't you write about what you want to be when you grow up and why?
You mean being Wonder Woman.
OK, but no magic lasso.
By the time I'm grown, they will have invented it.
You could write about telling the truth without magic.
I don't think that's possible. Like how that scratch got on the car.
Don't you dare write that down.
So, what do you write in your blog?
I don't blog.
So why do I have to?
Because you want to be a writer and writers write. Blogs are good for that. Keeps you in practice.
I said Wonder Woman, not Writer Woman.
But you have been writing those stories and said you were going to write a novel?
It uses imagination.
So does blogging.
Is that why you don't blog?
You're wasting time. There'll be less left to play once you're done.
I need an inspiration, like I get when I'm playing.
Maybe you should write when that happens instead of waiting until the last minute.
If you gave me a smart phone, I could take notes and write anytime.
You're not getting a fancy phone just so you can use it to play games or watch cat videos.
That's so old. No one watches cat videos any more.
What do they watch?
Well, mostly we watch ...
WE? And why are you watching videos instead of playing to get some exercise?
You asked me ...
How about you start writing something.
Maybe I should just write down our conversation.
It's a little late for that now. I'm going. Let me know when you're finished.
Maybe I should add a video in my blog entry.

Seriously, there's a gazillion things to write about. It's your blog. It doesn't have to be that perfect novel you have tucked away half finished.
The simplest thing is to just write anything. Remember, you can always just make that blog entry private if you're really concerned about what others may think. Blogging is for you, so don't worry. To others, it may be much more interesting than you think.
Are you editor material or would you just like to help with the Blogging Bliss? We're looking for editors and guest writers. As part of the staff, you get all the pleasure out of bringing to readers great blogs you've read, spectacular ideas you have about blogging, and magnificent news from blogging activities all the while improving your writing craft beyond just putting words on a page. And it's a lot of fun.
