As the longest running Blogging Challenge on Writing.Com, we have a long history and a lot of people to thank for helping this challenge continue to grow and thrive through the years. This page serves as a thank you to those people. *Heartt* *Heartg* *Heartt*

2008
30DBC Creator/Founder , the original 30DBC Founder, created the first ever blogging contest to hit WDC in 2008. In the early days, the contest originally held a weekly format and was aptly called the "7 Day Blogging Challenge." Earl was assisted by Associate Judges Julie D - PUBLISHED! and SISTER MARY MUGGINGSWORTH.

2011
In 2011, Earl made the brave choice to convert the 7 Day Blogging Challenge to the much more challenging 30 Day Blogging Challenge and created the new forum we still use today. This choice has been the 30DBC's cornerstone ever since. We have stuck by this 30 Day format as we believe it provides the most challenge and the most reward for blogging participants.

2012
2012 was a year of many changes for the contest. Thundersbeard 30DBC JULY HOST jumped on board to assist with the hosting of the contest alongside 30DBC Creator/Founder . Thundersbeard pioneered the now infamous “Challenge War Chest” as well as various other modifications to the challenge to encourage more participation. In November of that same year, the contest was transferred fully to Emily who took on responsibility for hosting the contest until March 2014. During this time, Brother Nature and Blog Monkey, Andre, acted as Unofficial Month Coordinators while WyrdNaos Trippin' on Yello fulfilled an assistant role.

2014
With Emily on her way to college, she found the need to transfer the contest again to focus on her studies. Lyn's a sly fox assumed responsibility as interim host for the remainder of 2014. It was in this year as well that the Unofficial August Month was converted to a camping theme with Lyn acting as Camp Director.

2015
Fivesixer took over as Host in early 2015 and continued to host until September 2018, the longest hosting stint the contest has ever seen. Along with Lyn's a sly fox , Norb brought the contest a Quill Win in 2016 and pioneered the February 50/50 Raffle to sustain funds for the contest.

2018
As Norb rose to stardom through the publishing of his first book, there was need yet again to transfer some responsibilities of hosting the contest. While Thundersbeard 30DBC JULY HOST and Lyn's a sly fox helped substantially during this time, it was determined that building a group of Senior Staff to host various aspects of the contest would be essential to sustain the contest long term without risking host burnout. Today, the contest has seven dedicated hosts, each with his or her own responsibilities:

Host
Fivesixer

Official Month Coordinator
Emily

Unoffical Month Coordinator
Lilith of House Martell

August Unofficial Month Camp Director
Lyn's a sly fox
