a short poem about a tragic life, or was it?
I Gave Voice

It’s been a long voyage.
I don’t know where I’ve been.
I don’t know where I’m going.
The clock keeps time within.

Moth to a flame.
Needle to a vein.
Over much too quickly.
No one left to blame.

Pick up all the broken pieces.
Sew the lives together.
Put away the sad good-byes.
No one lives forever.

I’ve had a really good time.
Nothing left created.
All that’s here was here before.
Just one life that’s wasted.

No one sorry or mad.
This life was just a choice.
A better one I could have made.
Though this one I gave voice.
