In remembrance of the Centennial Armistice Day |
| A lone poppy springs From green field abroad While many a lad Lies under the sod. For king and for country, Defense of their realm, They marched forth in glory; In glory, they fell. How far have we fallen In this day and age! No trenches are taken, No battles we wage. Our youth have forgotten From what stock they came; No longer are spoken The great heroes' names. Yet near in the future Good men must arise To stand for their honor, Their ancestors' pride. On green fields once more The children will tread; On trenches of war They'll honor the dead. |
