Outside the wind buoys up the drifting snow... A Verdant Poetry Entry |
| Winter Promenade Outside the wind buoys up the drifting snow in patterns that remind me of a dance. The music of the zephyr begins low as I observe this ongoing romance. In harmony, each singular snowflake moves to the melody that it has found and wheels and spins and twirls without a break; a promenade in white above the ground. The symmetry and beauty quell the night. I watch in silent awe, quite mesmerized. Iβm unaware of any but this sight; a moment out of time, uniquely prized. The music stops. The magic dissipates βtil conjured up once more by playful fates. An entry for Round 19, Winter, of the "Verdant Poetry Contest" Prompt: Be inspired by HOOF PRINTS, FROZEN LAKE, GOSSAMER, SNOWDRIFT, WINTER WONDERLAND Form: English Sonnet Line Count: 14 |
