A rhyme or two; it's what I do
I heard that it’s passé
To rhyme your poems today
But what else can I say?
They just come out that way

Don’t tell me it’s a crime
To come up with a rhyme
When I’m really in my prime
It happens all the time

I may not have a clue
Then right out of the blue
I’ll think of one or two
And soon I have a few

That’s when I’ll see the light
And I will start to write
I’ll toil day and night
Until I have it right

No Dr. Seuss am I
On that I wouldn’t lie
But I give it my best try
And now I’ll say goodbye
