Rest in Peace
He was laid out in the casket
His suit was neatly pressed
If you didn’t know any better
You would think he was at rest

Rest in peace is what they tell him
But I doubt that he can hear
And if he had a final wish
He’d be any place but here

The name of this sad service
Is such a big mistake
Just one glance will tell you
He’s anything but awake

I shouldn’t really be here
I just came in from the rain
I never saw this man before
And I never will again

Yet this has been a moment
I never will forget
For he has touched me somehow
This man I never met

For he looks so contented
Just lying there at rest
As if he's lost his worries
And this time is the best

Rest in peace
