Poetry of the ones I have loved
Oh how i admired you,
Your perfectly clear skin and doe eyes
Oh how i was a fool
To fall for such lies

You were a poisonous flower
With thorns of beauty
That always stuck in my skin

Your smile gave me hope of a future
That never came
You kept me hanging from love
And i played your game

Played happily
Happy to be your second or third choice
Happy to be used
Happy to be hurt
Because it was you
It was always you

With those eyelashes that made me swoon
With those hips i held on for dear life
I would have given you the moon
Given you the world

And yet here we are
Worlds apart
As though we were strangers
As though i weren’t madly in love with you

None of it is your fault
I loved you
That was my flaw

And as i sit in a school a million miles away
From the girl i loved
From the girl who showed me who i am

I am grateful to have ever loved you
To have gone through what we did

Thanks, E
