Soldiers stand in the rain, one coughs.
Older soldiers know there’s no bravado.
Lightning strikes, their mission crucial.
Defending a tomb honoring those departed.
Ignoring discomfort, guarding the alumni.
Every season a challenge.
Remaining true to the unknown soldier.
