A brief article that explains how to critique others' writing honestly and positively.
You are guaranteed to come across people's items on WDC, and putting all your thoughts in a review can be challenging, especially for all you newbies out there. Let's have a loom at how to become a great reviewer.
The first thing to realize is, everyone has their own style that they are comfortable with. This article is just a set of guidelines to help you when you want to give someone feedback..
Second, use the sandwich method. Start out with what you liked about the item, going in depth about why. Next, you will add your tips, comments, and questions, if any of these apply. If you do not see any way for it to improve because it is simply such a good item, let the author know just that! Make sure to be kind and courteous when making suggestions, and always check to make sure it sounds kind.
Lastly, end off in a positive note, saying one more thing that you liked about it, or paraphrasing what you originally stated you liked about it.
Hopefully this article will meet its purpose and help you with reviewing. Happy writing, everyone!
