My 30 minute escape
The rain splats on my windshield,
then runs down in little lines.
The clouds are dark and grey,
Maybe this is a sign.

My lunch break is almost over,
it always goes by too quick.
After 9 hours at work,
30 minutes is just too little to sit.

I ponder life
I question death
I take my medicine
Then I take a deep breath

Of course, the time has come.
It’s time for me to go back
The puddles soak into my shoes and socks
I wish life would cut me some slack
