| Bound for nowhere, I wander, aimlessly seeking a target for my dark desires. Embers of goodness, tamped-down for ages past, flicker. My blank face conceals the glee with which I ruthlessly crush their vain attempt to sway me. Then I see him: his gait unsteady, his path unsure. Darkness rises within me as I strike, revealed at last to all with eyes to see. 15 lines |
