Inspired by the podcast “History of Philosophy without Any Gaps”
Aristotle—
Einstein of his age,
first Greek to dissect life
both figuratively and literally—
observed

that snails generate
spontaneously in mud,
the heart houses intelligence,
nature does nothing in vain.

I’m no Aristotle,
but I observe things, too.
I hold them in my heart,
sure as any philosopher
who pieced together truth
from leftover bits
of chicken embryo.
