Once upon a time we had it all
When night turns into day
And the shadows melt away
That’s when I think I miss you most of all

Lying in our bed
As the sleep clears from my head
I know it's not a bad dream after all

After almost twenty years
I still wipe away the tears
No, I haven’t gotten over you at all

Now there’s nothing left for me
No future that I see
I’m just living in the past and that is all

But I still can’t help but smile
Every once in a while
When I remember that we one time had it all

         ... and then I cry
