There's nothing new to write about
There’s nothing new to write about
No, nothing new to say
Yeah, every rhyme I think about
Has seen the light of day
Just try to write a melody
That no one else has sung
You’ll find that it’s impossible
The lyrics have been done
I try to be creative and
I tell my mind to think
You can lead a horse to water
But you cannot make him drink

There I go
I’ve done it again
I’ve stolen someone else’s lines
From someone else’s pen

Our senses have been overwhelmed
With images and rhyme
We’re really only picking up
The flotsam of our time
It comes as no surprise to me
There’s no original thought
We’re victims of our culture drain
It’s just the way we’re taught
So I will leave you only with
This weak and feeble pun
There’s nothing that is fresh or new
Beneath the midnight sun

There I go
I’ve done it again
I’ve stolen someone else lines
From someone else’s pen
