For now, please. Allow me to soak up the nuanced essence they avow
The smiles on their faces
Their sweet voices
The embrace of their hug
The softness of their hands
They free me for moments.
Precious moments.
Then they go on to refocus and grow, to become their own
My mind is ubiquitous, My heart is expeditious
Why can't I break this harrowing aeon
Everyday I know it will be there
Everyday when I open my eyes, I pray it will fade
Yet everyday they give me meaning
I thank God for that
I thank God they save me
I know this is a mental connotation
For now, please
Allow me to soak up the nuanced essence they avow
