My thoughts on forced Poetry form.
Poetry Form

I prefer free verse,
for squeezing poetry
into some contrived form,
some invented ill-fitting rhyme scheme,
is like trimming a photograph to fit
in a 3 by 5 hole.
Do I chop off
the head or the feet,
the extraneous.
Only later,
when emptying the garbage,
one finds
the background
was the most interesting
of all.
