'In Quiet Contemplation Of The Sound'
Stand I at the edge of a record still
In quiet contemplation of the sound
That lies hidden within the vinyl spin
much like time in a watch that is not wound
but wasted on the turning of other wheels
And yet that which the soundless clock conceals
is never lost! Only fools have cause to feel
That a wristwatch makes time any more real
Or that music fades when the record rests
Between the pause it take from tick to tock
But sound and time in truth they echo best
In the silence before the needle drop
