To honor our Veterans
If you want to honor our veterans,
Of which I am one.
There are some things,
I know can be done.

Stand up when the flag goes by,
Hat off with hand on heart.
It’s not that hard to do,
And it really is a good start.

When you hear our national anthem,
Sing it loud and clear.
It’s about this land of glory,
Something vets love so dear.

Honor the elderly man,
Who lives down the street.
And the woman who stood beside him,
When he answered the war-drums beat.

When athletes take a knee,
Turn your backs to them.
Let them know you don’t approve,
Of their stupid little whim.

But most of all,
If you want to honor,
The memory of what we did,
Take a second and this you ponder.

Put your life on hold,
From high school to college.
Don a uniform and serve with pride.
To pay past veterans’ homage.

If you want our country strong,
The land of liberty.
Take that pledge and proudly stand,
And only to God take a knee.
