Why do I feel guilty when I am sick? Need to give care, not receive it.
Guilt crept in.
As It always did
When she awoke
Sick and sore.
Hardly moving.

Guilt crept in
As it always did
When she desperately
Needed sleep.
More rest.

Guilt crept in
As it always did
When those who loved her
Held her tight.
Heart warmth.

Guilt crept in
As it always did.
She was the care-giver.
Couldn’t be the
Cared-for.

Guilt crept in
As it always did.
But today she moved.
She smiled the guilt away.
She cared again.
