|Things started out good for the Toronto Blue Jays last night as the team got four hits in a row off of Tampa Bay Ray's starting pitcher, Blake Snell.
The Jays even went up 2-0 in the first inning with a two run homer by Lourdes Gurriel.
The Rays, however, were relentless.
In the bottom of the third inning, Avisail Garcia drove in Austin Meadows with a RBI single.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Rays went ahead 3-2 when Brandon Lowe hit a two run double.
Justin Smoak tied the game at the top of the eighth inning, driving in Gurriel with a RBI single.
Tampa won the game 4-3 in the bottom of the 11th inning when Willy Adames drove in Andrew Velazquez with a RBI single.
Gurriel went two for six and collected two RBIs.
Toronto's starting pitcher, Trent Thornton, went 4.2 innings, giving up seven hits, three earned runs, three walks, and struck out five batters.
Garcia went three to six at the plate and collected a RBI.
Tampa's Tommy Pham went three for five at the plate.
Snell went six innings, giving up six hits, two earned runs, two walks, and struck out five batters.
Toronto has the day off today. The team begins a three game weekend series against the Colorado Rockies tomorrow night.
