For all those people who used to frequent dance clubs back in the '80s
I danced until closing
When the lights came up
And all the pretty faces
Looked plain again

Those that did not appear so hot earlier
Worth a second glance back then
Even when it only amounted to
Another tumble of dice on Life's felt surface

Man's field of inquiry
Called for us to move ahead
When Internet dates became all the rage
Up till meeting face-to-face a common endgame

Now I settle on no one's company but mine
People just ghosts from the past
With tomorrow a singular chore left
Now that the parties of youth are concluded
