The companion poem to Through Blick and Bright (The change in weather is a Chicago ref.)
It was
not
the vacation
I planned on.

And the challenge
I was facing
was not
the bad one

You see, it seems
I shake in dreams
through other themes
a-beaming

And though I know
it's withering cold
My temperature
Is a-teeming.

Forget me not
old sallow soul
Remove thine heart
and sing.

And though it's hot
I have a bowl.
A better part
and things.

These vacances
make me bring
the better part
of valor.

I never thought
I'd see a soul
which twisted
every hour

And though the fright
that one aught night
was a terrible thing
to hear.

It goes so right
through blick bright.
We will definitely
go back next year.
