All I could hear was my heart as it broke
I heard you get up
In the dark of the night
A spectral, a spirit
A whisper of sight

I heard you were leaving
I let out a sigh
You never gave me
A proper goodbye

I heard the door open
As you crept down the hall
And that’s when you tripped
And I heard you fall

That’s when you called me
That’s when you spoke
But all I could hear
Was my heart as it broke

or (alternative ending)

It just serves you right
I thought to myself
You made my life ugly
You made my life hell
