Wondering around the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens, South East of Melbourne Victoria.
Small Signs

Off the path rows of unkempt trees create a tunnel,
Scattered shade through the branches as the sun tries to kiss the earth,
Dead pine needles forge a padded, yet prickly terrain,
Small signs courteously request visitors to keep off the garden.
A man made creek glistens in the sun,
The light treacle of water creates a sense of peace,
Patches of grass stand tall above the water thriving,
Small signs courteously request visitors to keep out of the stream.
A lone grass tree almost a perfect sphere,
Boastfully contrasted against the purple shrub backdrop,
A slight breeze passes by gently rustling the leaves,
Small signs courteously caution visitors of snakes in the area.
Spring has sprung and colour radiates from every angle,
In full bloom five purple noon flowers cluster together,
Yellow stamens offering pollen to the bees,
Small signs courteously request visitors to refrain from picking flowers.
A half blossomed yellow Australian wild flower,
Picture-perfect with two broken petals,
A sight for sore eyes through the lens of my camera,
Small signs courteously request visitors to refrain from picking flowers.
A bridge or boardwalk to cross the pond,
Sun beaming down on the open space,
In the distance a path that leads to somewhere,
Small signs courteously caution visitors of snakes in the area.
A large pond with ducks and turtles dominates the landscape,
Wide open space, flora now in the distance,
Visitors set up a picnic by the water as clouds roll in,
Small signs courteously request visitors to keep out of the pond.
Off the path rows of unkempt trees create a tunnel,
Darkness through the branches as the sun goes behind the clouds,
Dead pine needles forge a padded, yet prickly terrain,
Small signs courteously request visitors to keep off the garden.
