How I imagined God
I formed a perception of who you were

My knowledge of you was faulty
Little did I know my image of you was obscured
False ideas I created blurred your true aspect

I recognized you were omnipotent
Your power caused me fear
Unchecked worries started mistrust
And I remained imprisoned by my thoughts of you

Doing something you would disapprove I never wanted to do

Your wrath I did not want to know

So I behaved correctly to be right in your sight

But you desire that I know you

Your love began to remove those fears away

Understanding you viewed me with love regardless of my actions, drew me to you

Your care and delight for me broke my conceptions of you

What I needed to understand, your love, that you gave me
