the feeling of hate, dismay, and abandonment
The young girl was surrounded by a sea of people. Family, friends, love. But all she felt was hate. It was hate for her father who was a drug addict. It was sadness for her mother who was an alcoholic and attached herself to an abusive husband. It was dismay for her brother who believed he wouldn't live a life of meaning. It was hate for herself, for not being able to abandon the people who'd hurt her time and time again. She felt hate for caring for the people who would never change for themselves. But that thing will never change for her. And the sadness of her heart will always be hidden behind her soft smile of hurt.
