This Month's Editor: Wordsmitty ✍️

Apologies, Readers, for being late this month. Really though, they shouldn't end months on a Sunday, especially the shorter ones. Why can't they all be the same length? And who decided to have months that have days not divisible by seven? Maybe it's this whole year-not-exactly-365-days thing. I have heard that the earth spinning is slowing by like a billionth of a second every year, so maybe we'll get there eventually.

In other rants, this month's Feature is all about travel blogging experience. Not sure how this idea came about. *Wink*

Please go read and comment on the Editor's Picks and all the bloggers with new or restarted blogs. You know you appreciate others letting you know they read your blog.

OK. Hopefully, next month's issue will be back on track arriving the last Monday of July. If not, well, just send a note to the Publisher with your thoughts.

Keep on Bloggin'!

Travel Blogging in Practice

by Wordsmitty ✍️

Using the idea of Travel Blogging (please read the previous Feature in "April 2019 Blogging Bliss Newsletter), let's see what happens when someone is traveling and trying to blog about it.

Depending on ones plans and level of activities scheduled or happens, it can be easy or impossible. That should be obvious, but what isn't is that time can get away from best laid plans of mice and bloggers. Elle in her article mentioned some of her difficulties and ways to try and capture at least some things even when time is escaping.

Point 1: Time seems even more elusive when traveling. It doesn't matter if you schedule blog-time, other things will creep up and chip away at it. Exhaustion, jet lag, activities taking longe, etc. Even meals will eat up time as you relax more and stretch it out or just finding where to eat. You can rush getting here and there, but that will just tire and stress you more.

Point 2: Electronics dependence is a handicap. Even if you carry a phone around and can put notes in it, what might you be missing as you do that? Of course, you can take pictures o clip on a video reorder that runs continually, but when do you have time to review all that? Photos are great, but too many can be confusing. Unlabelled, they can turn meaningless. Tablets and laptops are more cumbersome taking away from experiencing what and why you're traveling.

Point 3: Memory is the best but is time limited and subject to short term erasure. This is what was done before there were blogs. It's how cave men told about the greener grass they visited on the other side of the mountain. Usually, the most important items are impressed deeper, and that's the things that matter. Of course, if your blog is to impress or educate others, more reliable info may be needed.

Point 4: Commitments tied to non-travel while traveling can't always be avoided. This is especially true if the month of travel is a day shorter than the commitment. *ROLLEYES*

In case you're wondering how I've come up with all this wisdom to pass on, just check out the blog entries starting with {entry: }.

Just remember, whatever you blog while traveling is yours. So don't get too upset if the blogging suffers some. That can ruin your trip. Is that what you want to blog about?

Blogger's Tips-N-Tricks          *GEEK*

Who's out there? WDC has members around the world who share their experiences, stories, and ideas of their homeland and culture. Using the WDC Search feature can locate these. You know how to search already, right?

There are also many activities that can take you virtually traveling, and blogging as well. The "30-Day Blogging Challenge routinely has unofficial months where you get to blog about your virtual trip to various locations. Take the location, do a bit of research, and create your day there.

Also, make sure to take WDC with you when you travel, whether that's across the street, through town, to the shore or around the world. If not with a laptop, remember the mobile app.
