|The Toronto Blue Jays celebrated Canada Day in a big way yesterday, hammering the Kansas City Royals 11-4.
With the win, the Jays won the four-game series.
Jay's outfielder, Randal Grichuk, went four for five at the plate and collected four RBIs.
Toronto rookie, Cavan Biggio, also had four RBIs yesterday.
Toronto's starting pitcher, Clayton Richard,had a good day on the mound.
Richard went six innings, giving up seven hits, three earned runs, a walk, and struck out four batters.
As for Kansas City, things were not good.
Whit Merrifield went two for four at the plate and collected a RBI.
Royal's starter, Glen Sparkman, went just three innings, giving up nine hits, eight earned runs, a walk, and struck out a batter.

Thornton faced the Red Sox on June 21. Boston won that game 7-5.
