I am overtaxed, spread thin.
In my mind
fireworks ignite:
I am overtaxed
spread thin
like water color,
plate overloaded
schedule crammed
everybody pulls;
I perceive an
octopus
the arms of all
who want my time.
Listen as I plead
for leisure, time off
for aiding behavior;
perhaps corn-hole,
horseshoes, or a
pie-eating
contest.

So I toil
mornings
mowing grass,
edging, weeding
trimming a burning
bush, shoveling
crushed stone.
Blue sky infrared
sunburn; oft my
neck I give.
I sing of me,
to-do juggler
voices call, I go.
I need shoulders
to stand on.
In principle,
I need to
govern my body.
Constitution reads
no taxation without
preservation.
