Boy meets girl falls in love and as she evolves he remains the same until she walks out.
“Just swallow!!” she said
It seemed without care
Not a drink
Or something sweet
Just a look of contempt
From that kitchen sink...

So down it went
That bitter pill
It's taste still remains
Where forgiveness should be...
Now years have passed
But the truth is the same
That I needed that truth
From the one that I love...

That bitter pill
I thought was a cure
But it made things worse
Since she's been gone
I pretend that it worked
But they can see in my eyes
The truth is harder to swallow
When it has no effect...

When she walked out that door
And never looked back
Her truth it seemed
Was different to mine...

When I should be me
I only see us
In that kitchen sink
Where hopes and dreams
Were washed away
Replaced by this
A taste that remains
Of her bitter pill
Her truth, not mine.
