Entry for Wort Picture Comtest
Based on picture prompt 1

The ocean weeps, for it is dying
A cruel death and, we aren’t trying
To solve this problem of pollution.
Surely, there is a solution!
Four billion pounds of trash each year
Enter the sea that once was clear;
Where once abundant sea life thrived,
Now some are barely left alive.
A plastic filled ocean we are building
That won’t decompose but will keep gilding
The pockets of some bureaucrats
Who could care less where trash is at!
And trash is not the only source!
Sewage is left to run its course
To waters that once were pristine
But now will never more be clean.
So much trash and goo and grime
Could circle the earth 400 times!
Health issues will soon abound
If a solution can’t be found!
So, talk it up and don’t be shy
Let people know the cause, and why
We all need to take drastic measures
To clean up and save this valued treasure.
Educate the population
About this tragic situation,
Reduce, recycle, and reuse
Cut down the amount of your refuse.
Save our oceans! It starts with “us”.
We must raise a loud ruckus!
We can’t change what we don’t know about
So help to get the word out.
