Ode to my kids who were made to grow up too fast by parents who weren't grown up at all.
Reading to you was so easy
Your faces would look at me with awe
As I turned over each new page
My pride in you was becoming more

Never in my dreams could I have imagined
That one day we would be so lost
A bond that was so unbreakable
I had no idea of the cost

Without you I am not complete
My heart has been torn away
If I had know for a minute that this could happen
I would have stayed for another day

To give us one more chance
At being a family once again
But hindsight is to loss
Like happiness is to pain

I will see you again my loves
Of that I can assure
Look for me I'll be waiting
With a bed time story and a love that's pure
