If I could be another healthy creature living in the forest, what would I choose?
He was a Wolf

Not exotic no
Though graceful and swift
Not colourful no
grey shades with black
Not industrious no
A survivor only
Building nothing
Destroying nothing
Not domesticated no
Wilder than the wind
He was a wolf
No more no less
He owed nothing to nobody
He sang to the moon
He danced in the snowdrifts
He ran through the night forest
At one with nature
At one with his nature
I envied my brother
The wolf I longed to be
The great spirit breathed the wild
Into his bones
But, regrettably,
a human he made of me.
