The greedy will destroy us all.
I saw the world dying in my dreams
When I woke I still heard her silent screams
The air was foul; no birds flew
The fish were gone, the animals too
A woman cried for the child in her hands
Above it all, on a pile of cash,
There stood a laughing man

I saw steel rails thrash like snakes
Subway trains flash by with no brakes
Rockets launched, sirens wailed,
Blood ran in floods as the system failed
A woman cried for the child in her hands
From his tower of power
Watched the laughing man

Waters rose so high that buildings fell
Quakes shook the land and made it hell
You can die without a fight if you choose
Doing nothing’s just another way to lose
A woman cried for the child in her hands
High on his throne
Smiled the laughing man

G. Gabriel
