Soldiers are made, used, and forgotten.
Serving our country they marched
Believing in the lie
Government opened the doors to hell
War was justified

Soldiers have since returned
From beneath the foreign skies
Forced to once more lend ears
To patriotic lies

Their files placed in piles somewhere
Medals upon their chests
They learn abruptly… the coffers bare
No funds for their rest

Bandaged, broken, in despair
Medically released
Our casualties of war
are now,
Our casualties of peace.
