I have a lot of scenes I don't have stories for. Imagine any context.
"Wait!" She reached for his hand turning him around to face her again. He was in the verge of tears now, but still held her gaze.
"Tell me," she laughed morbidly, daring to look into his eyes,
"How did you get so good at pretending your heart wasn't shattering into a thousand peices?"

He looked at her sadly, one last time, before offering a watery smile and replying softly,
"Lots of practice."
And each word broke her heart.
