The Joy They Bring

Such simple joy can be found in our children. I believe they are our primary purpose.

The gentle whimpers while they sleep
are ours and ours alone to keep.

In daylight moments they steal our hearts
and send our lips in high skyward parts.

For the pursuit of their joy we haste,
with not one second left to waste.

Each echo of laughter our beloved child makes
sends a parent's heart into the wildest of quakes.

Softly lit faces reflect love in their eyes.
What wonder! Each day, a new surprise!
